Jake Nester "Coach of the Year" Award
East Central MS FCA is partnering with the Nester family and naming the
Coach of the Year Award in memory of Coach Jake Nester. Jake's personal
and public life as a coach were identical. He was an excellent example of
a Christian Competitor. Jake had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
and was a dedicated disciple both on and off the field. His motto was
"Compete Every Pitch". Jake fought the good fight against cancer and
earned a hard fought victory on May 21, 2021. His life touched thousands of
people in Mississippi and beyond.
Please send us a paragraph or two about your coach. Let us know why you are nominating him/her and how they have made a positive impact on you or a team in your community. This is for active, current coaches(head coaches or assistants) in middle or high schools in our 5 county area.
We have formed a committee to select a Coach of the Year from everyone who is nominated. Mark Lanier, who is on the East Central MS FCA Board of Directors, will serve as chairman of this committee along with selected members of the Nester Family.
